Just remember where the on/off switch is. It won't take much room - as a light it is more useful than the torch I usually pack and if you could safely leave it in your room somewhere to catch the sun's rays during the day while you were out - great for lighting a strange bedroom without walking anyone else. The metal stand cannot be removed but you can rotate the light and place the stand in a suitcase with the light flat. It is 16cm high with the rotating circle fixed at highest.
